St. Johns Churchyards
"Visitors attending to their graves or searching for gravestones, have approached several people from church to comment how lovely they are kept and to say what a pleasure it is visiting, and how peaceful it is when looking round. Many sit on the forms provided with their own special thoughts or just look around at the graves in their own leisure.
Most people ask if their comments will be passed on and to say a special thank you and how they are a credit to the Church"
So here it is...
THANK YOU ST.JOHNS

# Micro filmed copies of these registers are available at Bolton Central Library Local History Section.
Bolton & District Family History Society produced a listing of memorials, mainly gravestone, with as much readable information that could be deciphered. A copy is kept in the safe along with the registers. It should be noted that many graves have no memorial stones. However there is a 97 year old plan of the old graveyard with names of incumbent’s or the renter of the plot. This and the church registers can be viewed with permission; there is a charge of £19 for the first hour and £16 for each subsequent hour.
Note that none of the above applies to the graveyard extension.
