Alison was born
in Bury and has lived there all her life. She lives with her parents and two cats.
She trained to
be a Registered General Nurse from 1989 – 1992 at South Manchester School of
Nursing. After qualifying she worked in a private nursing home for five years
and then has just completed seventeen years as a Senior Staff Nurse on a
medical ward at North
Manchester General Hospital. She is currently the Patient
Flow Coordinator at Fairfield
General Hospital,
Bury, where she is responsible for the monitoring of the discharge progress of
those patients who are medically fit for discharge and liaising with site
management team.
She has been a
regular church attender all her life and has been a Brownie leader at St. John’s for about
twenty years. She is an active member of the church, and is involved in Baptism
Preparation classes, a member of the PCC, a Deanery Synod rep and a member of
the choir.
She is now an
Authorised Lay Minister in Children’s Ministry, linking this in with the
uniformed organisations.
In her spare
time she enjoys going out for meals with friends, singing in the church choir ,
playing the clarinet and keyboard , and watching TV.
